Organisations of all shapes and sizes are invited to enter one or more of the 14 categories.

 There are also specific awards dedicated to recognise individual’s achievements.

To be in with a chance of winning an award you must submit your entries by 5.00pm on Friday 9th June 2017.  Shortlisted applicants will be notified at the end of July and winners announced on the night.

All shortlisted applicants will be automatically entered into the category for the Special Recognition Award.


Category Criteria

 

Construction Company of the Year

To celebrate the outstanding achievements of a construction organisation that has invested in life saving equipment and that compliments their first aid procedures by having a defibrillator on site.

 

Community Responder Scheme of the Year

To recognise an outstanding community responder scheme which has provided life support care using a defibrillator

 

Educational Establishment of the Year

 To recognise an outstanding school, college or university which have invested in life saving equipment and staff training to provide a Heart Safe Environment for their employees and students and to continuously support awareness of sudden cardiac arrest.

 

Emergency Services Team of the Year

To recognise a member or members of the police, fire, ambulance, coastguard, mountain and sea rescue services, who have gone beyond the call of duty by providing Heart Safe Environments to save lives.

 

Fundraiser of the Year

 To recognise a tireless charity fundraiser, who has gone beyond all expectations to raise funds for a heart related charity in order to create Heart Safe Environments within their chosen community.

 

Large Business of the Year

To celebrate an outstanding business with over 100 employees which has invested in life saving equipment and staff training to provide a Heart Safe Environment for their employees/client and customers.

 

Leisure & Tourism of the Year

To recognise an outstanding tourism and leisure establishment which has invested in life saving equipment and staff training to provide a Heart Safe Environment for their employees and customers.

 

Life Saver of the Year

To recognise an individual who has personally saved a life using lifesaving skills whilst on or off duty.

 

Not for Profit Organisation of the Year

To recognise an outstanding not for profit organisation, which has invested in life saving equipment and staff training to provide a Heart Safe Environment for their employees, clients and customers.

 

Professional Services Organisation of the Year

To recognise an outstanding business from various sectors in business including: financial services, environmental, legal, logistics and supply chain to technical and engineering, dentists, IT too training and development, who have invested in life saving equipment and staff training to provide a Heart Safe Environment for their employees, clients and customers.

 

Public Sector Organisation of the Year

To recognise an outstanding public sector organisation (including local authorities etc.) who have invested in life saving equipment and staff training to provide a Heart Safe Environment for their employees and customers.

 

Retailer of the Year

To recognise an outstanding shopping centre or retail business, which has invested in life saving equipment and staff training to provide a Heart Safe Environment for their employees and customers, and who is committed to providing ongoing awareness of sudden cardiac arrest.

 

SME Business of the Year

To recognise an outstanding business with 02 - 100 employees which has invested in life saving equipment and staff training to provide a Heart Safe Environment for all their employees/clients and customers.

 

Sport & Fitness Establishment of the Year

To recognise and celebrate Sports & Fitness establishments (e.g. Gym’s/Private Health Clubs/Football clubs) that has invested in Heart Safe equipment and training for their staff and customers, and who has continuously invested in life saving training of their staff.

 

Special Recognition Award

All organisation and individuals’ from each category that have been shortlisted will be entered into this category.

 

This award will recognise an individual/individuals, a group or organisation who are deserving of special recognition. They will have achievements which have contributed to saving lives, sharing lifesaving skills, or making a difference to a business or community.

This award will be presented based on a contribution made to saving lives as a whole and may not necessarily be tied directly to a life saving story.
